We present a case of a six-year-old girl with Down Syndrom who develop
ed recurrent ischemic strokes. Cerebral angiography demonstrated a sup
raclinoid stenosis of the right internal artery, an occlusion of the l
eft supraclinoid internal cerebral artery and dilated collateral vesse
ls, consistent with Moyamoya disease. We emphasize the increased frequ
ency of Moyamoya in patients with Down Syndrome and also the most impo
rtant pathophysiologic, clinical and radiological findings of this dis
ease.
