Abstract
Simulation exercises are a preferred method for reinforcing process co ntrol principles. The Software Laboratory described in this paper enab les the student to perform many simulation exercises, some via program ming and some via interactive menus. The Software Laboratory facilitat es student learning by using technology, terminology, and process exam ples that are consistent with a course textbook All programs use the p opular MATLAB software program, which ensures the same programs functi on on many platforms. The accompanying 100-page workbook provides inst allation guides, program instructions, and extra exercises tied to tex tbook process examples.
