Quantum dynamics of the Brans-Dicke field has been studied in hyperext
ended inflationary models. A general expression for the density pertur
bations arising out of such quantum fluctuations has been derived and
used to evaluate the density perturbations for the special case of con
stant omega (extended inflation) and shown to be consistent with the s
tandard analysis. A simple model of hyperextended inflation is also co
nsidered.
