Abstract
The prediction models for scintillation variance of ITU-R and Karasawa ef nl. are compared to measurements, on a time base which is much sho rter than originally considered for these models. It is shown that eve n afier averaging over just three days, a good correlation with the me asured valiance is found. Both models predict higher scintillation var iance than is measured al 19.8 GHz on a 12.7 degrees elevation path in Kirkkonummi, Finland.
