Ks. Kim et Sr. Weiner, IMPACT OF TEMPERATURE TRANSIENTS ON THE MEASURED TRANSMISSION PROPERTIES OF OPTICAL FIBERS, Electronics Letters, 32(12), 1996, pp. 1125-1126
The properties of an optical fibre are affected by room temperature va
riation. At constant temperature, the properties are determined by the
physical properties of the glass. However, during and after a tempera
ture change, the optical properties are affected by the fibre stress c
aused by the differential thermal expansion coefficient between the gl
ass and fibre coating materials.
