Ak. Jensen et R. Gani, A COMPUTER-AIDED SYSTEM FOR GENERATION OF PROBLEM SPECIFIC PROCESS MODELS, Computers & chemical engineering, 20, 1996, pp. 145-150
A methodology for automatic generation of problem specific process mod
els to be used in simulation related to process design and operation i
s presented. The methodology is essentially based on information relat
ed to setting up control shells, physical description of the interior
of the control shells, and, specifications of the various types of int
eractions between the control shells and the surroundings. From the de
scription of the control shell, the computer aided system generates th
e problem specific model equations from a reference model which contai
ns all the necessary terms for modelling a chemical process. The algor
ithmic aspects of the methodology are highlighted and two non-trivial
applications are presented.
