Xm. Yang et C. Mcgreavy, REQUIREMENTS FOR SHARING PROCESS DATA IN THE LIFE-CYCLE OF PROCESS PLANTS, Computers & chemical engineering, 20, 1996, pp. 363-368
This paper addresses the issues related to the practice of modelling p
rocess data for computer aided concurrent engineering (CAGE) environme
nt in the context of the development of a STEP (The Standard for the E
xchange of Product Model Data) Application Protocol (AP). The requirem
ents for the process data over the life cycle of process plant are ide
ntified and emphasise sharability, reusability, and interoperability o
f data models. The approach follows the EPISTLE (European Process Indu
stries STEP Technical Liaison Executive) framework and Core model to d
evelop a process data model. Subsequent analysis provides a basis for
evaluation of the benefits of such models in which some extensions sug
gest to the EPISTLE data modelling methodology.
