Abstract
A simulation model for batch distillation in columns with perforated p lates has been developed. Its novelty consists in the use of both the non-equilibrium and the equilibrium model making up together a better integrated model. The motivation for the building of the new model has been pointed out by Voigtlander (Voigtlander, 1994) where some shortc omings of the non-equilibrium stage model of Krishnamurthy and Taylor (Krishnamurthy et al., 1985) have been claimed. In this model no detai led accounting for the plate hydraulics is possible. Simulation runs h ave been made and are compared with experimental results.
