K. Bechert et E. Koenig, A SEARCH COIL SYSTEM WITH AUTOMATIC FIELD STABILIZATION, CALIBRATION,AND GEOMETRIC PROCESSING FOR EYE-MOVEMENT RECORDING IN HUMANS, Neuro-ophthalmology, 16(3), 1996, pp. 163-170
The search coil method, which has become standard in high precision ex
perimental eye movement recording, requires stable magnetic fields of
known strength, correction for offsets and other variable characterist
ics of the recording electronics, calibration, and geometric interpret
ation of the measured coil voltages. The search coil system presented
here uses a digital microprocessor to achieve these aims automatically
, thereby avoiding errors and time-consuming manual adjustments.
