Upper midline laparotomy in the presence of pulmonary failure is often complicated by a prolonged period of mechanical ventilation postopera tively, We report the successfull performance of laparoscopic fundopli cation, without ventilatory suport, in a woman with end stage pulmonar y disease and resting hypercarbia, one month prior to lung transplanta tion.
