Am. Chapel et P. Sanders, PHYSIOLOGICALLY-BASED PHARMACOKINETIC MOD ELING IN VETERINARY-MEDICINE, Revue de Medecine Veterinaire, 147(5), 1996, pp. 359-366
The physiologically-based pharmacokinetic modelling is useful in veter
inary medicine. This model can predict the drug tissular concentration
s for different treatments. The development of the physiologically-bas
ed pharmacokinetic models consists on three steps. The first is the mo
del representation with a diagram and the mathematical equations who d
escribe the different interrelationships. Then, the mathematical equat
ions parameters must be obtain. There are physiological, physicochemic
al and biochemical parameters. The last step is the model validation.
Some applications of the physiologically-based pharmacokinetic model a
re given in this review.
