Abstract
The poisoning effect of carbon disulfide on a model nickel/silica cata lyst and the regenerating role of both pure hydrogen and 2-butyne + hy drogen are reported. The treatments induce the elimination of sulfur a nd promote a recovery of the catalytic activity; irreversible adsorbed sulfur still remains on the catalyst.
