Abstract
Tooth discolouration is frequently seen in companion animal practice. Knowledge of the composition and development of the dental tissues inv olved in such discolouration and identification of the cause of the di scolouration and the consequences for the dentition are essential to p rovide adequate treatment for the problem. This article provides a pra ctical classification of tooth discolouration in companion animals and discusses the most common discolourations.
