Abstract
This article presents results of investigations of multi-component coa tings of the Ti(C,N) type used to improve durability of cutting tools. The coatings were deposited on tools made of high-speed steel and sin tered carbides by the vacuum arc method. The working atmosphere was co mposed of nitrogen and acetylene. Wear tests were carried out in labor atories and on industrial scale.
