Abstract
This review examines the effects of alcohol on women's health. It disc usses studies examining the association of lower mortality with modera te drinking, explores reports relating alcohol consumption to health p roblems among women, and alludes to the ancient Mediterranean moderate drinking norm in light of this current research.
