Abstract
Eighteen members of 4'-n-alkoxyphenyl 4 ''-[(4-n-alkoxy-2,3,5,6-tetraf luorophenyl) ethynyl] benzoates have been synthesized. Polarizing micr oscopic textural observation shows that they exhibit enantiotropic nem atic phase and smetic C phase.
