An easy to implement method for stabilizing periodic orbits in a modul
ated laser is presented. Such a method is based on negative feedback o
f subharmonic components extracted from the temporal intensity signal.
Robustness, speed, and general validity of this scheme for other lase
r systems are also discussed.
