Abstract
The synchronous-nutation method, aimed at isolating a specific pair of spins with respect to cross relaxation or slow exchange with addition al spins, is carefully analyzed. It is shown that isolation is effecti ve in a great number of physically relevant situations. (C) 1996 Acade mic Press, Inc.
