Objective: A case of genitourinary fibromatosis with associated anomal
ies is presented. Methods: Clinical evaluation included ultrasonograph
y, urography, CT scan and MR image. Ultrasonography-guided perineal bi
opsy was performed with a 14-gauge Tru-cut needle. Results: Rectal exa
mination revealed a very hard prostatic mass in the 22-year-old patien
t. The histological result and clinical data indicated the diagnosis o
f genitourinary von Recklinghausen disease. Conclusion: We report a ve
ry rare case of genitourinary neurofibromatosis associated with congen
ital anomalies of the urinary tract. The diagnosis was obtained with U
S-guided transperineal biopsy.
