Abstract
We investigate the effect of different tracking strategies, such as lo cal and full-field tracking, on the mean and variance of the image vel ocity field. We show that while local tracking reduces the velocity va riability in an eccentricity-dependent manner, full-field tracking red uces velocity variability equally across the image. We test our predic tions with digitized image sequences.
