Abstract
The development of candidate vectors and of techniques for their manip ulation by sequence targeting suggest that a mini-chromosome vector sy stem for the mouse germline may be at hand. Mini-chromosome vectors sh ould allow new sorts of genetic problems to be addressed experimentall y and may accelerate the process of gene identification.
