Research into the delivery of potentially useful peptide therapeutic a
gents to the CNS has lagged behind the exponential growth in their dis
covery. There remain many problems in developing effective and safe de
livery strategies, but there has been some progress in overcoming this
major obstacle, The author provides an overview of those properties o
f the blood-brain barrier that are specific for pep tides and outlines
current methods addressing peptide drug delivery to the CNS.
