Abstract
A mathematical model is considered describing absorption of hydrogen b y a cylindrical specimen in a closed volume under boundary conditions of mode I. The kinetics of hydrogen absorption by commercial titanium was studied experimentally in the: temperature range 600-950 degrees C . Comparison of experimental and calculated data made if possible to d etermine hydrogen diffusion coefficients and the range of applicabilit y of the proposed model.
