N. Verma et al., SYNTHESIS AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF IAZOL-5-YLMETHOXY)-3-PHENYL-1-BENZOPYRAN-2(H)-ONES, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. B: organic chemistry, including medical chemistry, 35(7), 1996, pp. 688-691
Several substituted 4-alkyl-7-(4-amino/H-3-mercapto-1, 2, iazol-5-ylme
thoxy)-3-phenyl-1-benzopyran-2(H)-ones (13-15 and 19-21) have been syn
thesized and tested for their in vitro growth inhibitory and spore ger
mination inhibitory activities against several phytopathogenic fungi a
nd bacteria. The intermediate l-4-(n)-propyl-2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyranyl-7
-oxyacetic acid:hydrazide (9) and 14 have been found to be the most ac
tive compounds against R. solani and P. recondita uredo spores at 6.25
mu g/mL and 3.125 mu g/mL concentrations, respectively. Compounds 12,
14 and 15 exhibit significant activity against E. coli with MIC value
at 6.25 mu g/mL concentration.
