Abstract
Various 2,4-dialkoxy-5-ethylcinnamic acids (2) when condensed with 3-s ubstituted-4-amino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles (3) in the presence of p hosphorus oxychloride give lkoxy-5'-alkylphenyl)ethen-1-yl]-s-triazolo [3,4-b] [1,3,4]thiadiazoles (4) whose structures have been established on the basis of analytical and spectral data. The thiadiazoles 4 have been assessed for antiinflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal acti vities.
