Abstract
The kinetics of polymerization of methyl methacrylate catalysed by Cr( acac)(3)-ZnEt(2) in benzene medium-show a first order dependence of ra te on [monomer] and overall activation energy has been found to be 6.3 kcal mol(-1). Both H-1 NMR and GPC studies on the polymer product con firm the operation of a free-radical mechanism.
