Sk. Chattopadhyay et al., STUDIES ON THE HIMALAYAN YEW TAXUS-WALLICHIANA .4. ISOLATION OF DIHYDROTAXOL AND DIBENZOYLATED TAXOIDS, Indian journal of chemistry. Sect. B: organic chemistry, including medical chemistry, 35(7), 1996, pp. 754-756
Dihydrotaxol (1) and two dibenzoylated rearranged taxanes (2) and (3)
have been isolated from the bark of Taxus wallichiana, collected from
Arunachal Pradesh. This is the first report of isolation of these taxo
ids from the Himalayan yew. The occurrence of these taxoids implies th
at Taxus wallichiana can be a good source of structurally unique and b
iologically active taxol analogues.
