Abstract
Three different materials, kaolin, pozzolana and biolite (a material u sed in a commercial anaerobic fluidized bed treatment process) when te sted as supports for an anaerobic fluidized bed system had similar phy sical and fluidization properties but behaved differently towards the biomass hold-up. However, all three systems attained similar removal e fficiency rates.
