GHOST DECOUPLING IN THE THOOFT SPECTRUM FOR MESONS

We show that the replacement of the ''instantaneous'' 't Hooft potenti al with the causal form suggested by equal time canonical quantization in the light-cone gauge, which entails the occurrence of negative pro bability states, does not change the bound state spectrum when the dif ference is treated as a single insertion in the kernel.
