Abstract
Protonation of [Os-3(CO)(12)] occurs readily in anhydrous HF; the addi
tion of WF6 gives a route to the title compound, [HOs3(CO)(12)][W2O2F9
], which forms as triclinic crystals. The anion is a fluoride-bridged
dimer, whilst the bridging hydride ligand in the carbonyl cluster cati
on has been located by difference Fourier techniques and the geometry
of the carbonyl ligands.
