Abstract
The addition of a solution of 6 mmol of NaNO2 to an aqueous solution c ontaining 3 mmol of Ni(NO3)(2) . 6H(2)O and 3 mmol of OHpn produces th e brown complex O2)(8)(mu(2)-OH)(2)(mu(3)-OH)(2)(OHpn)(2)(OPn)(2)] (2) . 7H(2)O (OHpn is the 1,3-diamino-2-propanol), which is characterized by X-ray crystallography and magnetic susceptibility measurements and found to have an antiferromagnetic behavior.
