Abstract
An approach is developed utilizing measurements of transient pressure and flowrate at the inlet and outlet of the line. A time series analys is technique is used in such a way that the number of unknown coeffici ents to be estimated is minimized. Accurate predictions are shown for three different line configurations and a range of operating condition s. The evaluation of just two transmission line functions then allows a simple model structure to be used for the simulation of fluid power circuits incorporating long lines.
