A novel method to study the flow characteristics of thin liquid films
draining down an oscillating vertical surface is presented. A Mach-Zeh
nder interferometer was used to measure changes in film thickness and
parameters such as local gradient at the film surface were derived. Th
e measurements were found to be consistent with previous theoretical p
redictions.
