During a survey of parasites of fish in Lake St, Lucia, KwaZulu-Natal,
South Africa, Dichelyne (Dichelyne) rasheedae was recovered from the
intestines of Pomadasys commersonnii and Rhabdosargus sarba, and Spiro
camallanus olseni from Rhabdosargus sarba. These are new host and geog
raphical records. Both species of nematodes are redescribed and figure
d by use of light and scanning-electron-microscopical techniques, and
additional morphological data are provided.
