Abstract
This paper presents the development of a parallel multiblock method fo r three-dimensional incompressible flows. Parallelization of the metho d is obtained using shared-memory, as well as message-passing models. The two models are compared for their efficiency. Results are also pre sented on different multiple instruction multiple data systems. Invest igations of the parallel performance using different grid sizes and nu mber of processors is obtained. The solver is based on a third-order c haracteristic-based upwind method. The artificial compressibility form ulation is used for coupling the continuity with the momentum equation s. The time integration is obtained by an explicit Runge-Kutta scheme. Copyright (C) 1996 Published by Elsevier Science Limited.
