A great number of pollen analysis were performed in northern France, B
elgium and rhenish land ; they point out to the presence of refuges of
thermophilous species during the Late Glacial and the formation of fo
rest-galleries. Attached to the toundra idea, some laboratories didn't
accept those results but, however, they were confirmed by some anthra
cological studies.
