The hot corrosion behaviour of Nickel-200 industrial alloy has been in
vestigated in presence of Na2SO4, NaCl, NaNO3, Na2CO3 and Na2O2 respec
tively at 850 degrees C in flowing air. The hot corrosion kinetics and
effect of salt deposition on the corrosion rate were studied. The sca
le morphologies were determined on the basis of X-ray diffraction and
scanning electron microscopic techniques. It has been shown that an al
loy corrodes at different rate in presence of different sodium salts a
lthough each salt contains the same amount equivalent to Na2O.
