We present valence-band photoemission spectra of YbInCu4 taken at vari
ous temperatures. They show a strong increase of the spectral weight f
or the 4f(7/2)(13) and 4f(5/2)(13) Lines when the temperature is lower
ed from 300 to 20 K. Curve fitting of the spectral Line shape yields t
he binding energy and width of the 4f(7/2)(13) peak at a temperature o
f 20 K to be similar to 5 and similar to 18 meV, respectively. We prop
ose that the results should be interpreted taking also a crystalline-e
lectric-field splitting into account.
