High-resolution photoemission spectroscopy has been carried out for in
-situ synthesized deutrated organic conductor (DMe-DCNQI) 2Cu, where D
Me-DCNQI is dimethyl-dicyanoquinonediimine, to study the metal-insulat
or transition due to the charge ordering. The high-resolution photoemi
ssion spectrum near EF shows a rigid shift of about 100 meV indicative
of opening of a Peierls gap below the critical temperature (Tc=60 K).
