Abstract
We discuss the mutual coupling of solitary waves of two different type s, dark and bright, due to nonlinear interaction between the modes wit h different signs of group-velocity dispersions, and find a novel clas s of vector solitons. We investigate the stability of these dark-brigh t solitons and reveal an important mechanism of soliton stabilization.
