We report five cases of early rupture of cornual pregnancy with histor
y of previous salpingectomy and cornual resection following in-vitro f
ertilization (IVF) and embryo transfer, We discuss the predisposing fa
ctors, diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in these patients, A high
index of suspicion is required for an early diagnosis, It is imperati
ve that the physicians who care for the patients be fully aware of the
possibility of such a complication in a high risk population; therefo
re, appropriate counselling and close follow-up might help to avoid su
ch obstetrical catastrophes, by termination of pregnancy, either surgi
cally or medically.
