Jk. Macko et al., ON THE TYPES OF DUJARDINS SPECIES OF THE GENUS BRACHYLECITHUM (TREMATODA, DICROCOELIIDAE) WITH A SUGGESTION TO SELECT THE NEOTYPE OF B-ATTENUATUM, Helminthologia, 33(2), 1996, pp. 111-113
Data on the original materials of the ''oldest'' species of the genus
Brachylecithum Strom, 1940 indicate that type-specimens of Brachylecit
hum filum (Dujardin, 1845) and B. attenuatum (Dujardin, 1845) are now
non-existent. For stabilization of the nomenclature, it is suggested t
o revise the genus and from the existing dicrococliids select as the n
eotype of B. attenuatum the specimen deposited at the Museum national
d'Histoire naturelle in Paris labelled MNHN, Paris, 480 HF, slide Tg.
