THE RING DRYER - A NEW APPROACH TO WASTE REDUCTION

After reviewing mechanical dewatering methods available today, Barr-Ro sin proposes its ring dryer technology as an alternative to incinerato r systems. The paper describes the successful installation of a ring d ryer to burn deinking sludge and advantages related to the use of this new process for paper mills, since the dryer's ability to remove larg e quantities of water associated with sludge at much lower temperature s increases the net calorific value of waste fibres, making them easie r to burn.
