Abstract
For a function field F over a finite field F-q, let N (F) (resp. g (F) ) denote the number of rational places (resp. the genus) of F. We give several explicit examples of towers of function fields F-1 subset of or equal to F-2 subset of or equal to ... over F-q, such that lim(i--> infinity) N (F-i)/g(F-i) > 0.
