Abstract
Distributions of parallel and transverse momenta for Be-7 fragments fo rmed in the breakup of B-8 have been measured at 41A MeV. The p(parall el to) distributions are narrow (81 +/- 4 and 62 +/- 3 MeV/c FWHM for Be and Au targets, respectively), comparable to those of neutron halo nuclei. Reaction mechanisms influence the Be-7 momentum distributions, so they do not directly reflect the valence proton momentum wave func tion. We present reaction models that reproduce the distributions.
