Raman scattering experiments on metallic La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 have been carr
ied out using different excitation wavelengths as a function of temper
ature from 15 K to 300 K. Our data suggest a Raman mode attributed to
electronic excitations centered at 2100 cm(-1) whose intensity decreas
es with increasing temperature. if the Raman mode is attributed to sin
gle-particle excitation associated with the fluctuations of the mass t
ensor, the decreased intensity would then imply a reduction in the den
sity of states at the Fermi energy with increasing temperature.
