MANAGEMENT OF ASTHMA IN THE HOSPITAL EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

The use of asthma assessment and management protocols enables many of the clinical problems associated with the treatment of asthma in hospi tal emergency departments to be overcome. Their implementation also se rves an educational function when used by the junior medical staff who are usually delegated responsibility for the care of asthmatic patien ts in the emergency department.
