Abstract
Intramedullary (subpial) lipomas not associated with spinal dysraphism are very unusual [1]. A confident preoperative diagnosis is usually p ossible with MRI. We present a case of an isolated cervical intramedul lary lipoma with unusual imaging morphology and imaging characteristic s (distinctly low-signal on T2-weighted images) on MRI. An explanation for these features is proposed.
