Abstract
The authors propose an add/drop operation scheme for >100 Gbit/s optic al time division multiplexed signals based on optical wavelength conve rsion through four-wave mixing. The configuration consists of a presca led timing extraction circuit, and an optical demultiplexer and multip lexer, all of which are based on four-wave mixing. Its basic operation is confirmed in an experiment that successfully reconstructs a 4-chan nel, 7.5 ps separation, optical signal.
