Abstract
We present a simple derivation of the force-balance equation for a pin ned lattice of Abrikosov vortices in the presence of a driving current . The formalism employed is based on a general macroscopic theory deve loped by Larkin to describe the effect of defects in the Shubnikov pha se of a type-II superconductor.
